The Sound
of De Clercq Guitars
De Clercq used his experience of working with computer hardware in his advantage to design his own pick-ups and to create a unique sound with multiple tone and stable volume, without having to split the coils. De Clercq created his own wiring system that enables the guitar to fit in various type of music like country, blues, jazz, rock, pop, funk, etc. All of that with just one tone control to set the right color or the desired tone for the kind of music playing at that moment.
ATTENTION: it is possible to combine all pick-ups with each other to suit your taste .
The pick-ups; Tribe, Hellfire, Generator and Plutonium
Tribe: 2 humbuckers (neck and bridge)
Hellfire: 3 humbucker pickup set (neck, middle and bridge)
Generator:3 single coil set (neck, middle and bridge)
Plutonium : 2 humbuckers (neck and bridge)
Helium: 2 single coil humbuckers
The development process
of De Clercq Guitars
In the design of the guitar body De Clercq was in basic inspired by the human body with all its curves. The guitars look like, feel like, and in fact are sculpted. Recognizable by the distinctive shape of the hip and beautiful curves. The guitar feels smooth. People tend to strike the shape over and over again with their hands. Gary De Clercq ordered himself to make a design, construction and a good sound technique on board which was unique. Without making of a copy of another guitar brand!!! Out of respect for great predecessors and inspiration as Fender, Gibson, PRS and a few others, De Clercq would never try to copy their guitars.
It did inspire him and De Clercq added what he found was important on a De Clercq Guitar. Beauty, ergonomics, playability and a sound that is raw, deep but also clear as water. In short; a guitar to get hold of. To express yourself.
De Clercq set the bar high for himself. He says -Of course it wasn’t easy. During the development process I asked various guitar players to think with me and to test the guitars for me on playability and sound. In this way, the guitars were tested and innovated with great attention. The guitar is built to insprire musicians-.
The carving and the construction makes the guitar one with the player! The neck is particularly slender and fast. This makes the guitar feel comfortable in your hand and good playable. The fret work distinguishes itself from other brands by a clearly recognizable personal style. As a result, the neck is significantly lighter and faster playable than other brands. De Clercq managed to make them light weight and well balanced. The guitars look spectacular on stage. They can be recognized from a a distance by their unique sound and shape.
